What Is A “Chocolate
Fountain”?
The chocolate fountain is a mechanical fountain specially
designed as a “Fondue”. Chocolate
cascades off of round tiers while guests dip fruit, marshmallows and other
accompaniments into the warm flowing chocolate.
Chocolate fountains have become very popular at wedding
receptions, birthday parties, anniversary parties, corporate events, restaurant
buffets and many other types of events.
How Does The Chocolate
Fountain Work?
The base of the chocolate fountain consists of a reservoir
that will hold approximately
20lbs chocolate. This
chocolate is kept warm by the use of an internal heating element. When the fountain is turned on, an auger,
which is located in the center of the fountain, lifts the chocolate to the top
of the fountain. Once at the top, the
chocolate then cascades down the fountain, completely covering the multiple
round tiers. The chocolate then returns
into the reservoir where the process starts all over again.
What Is The Chocolate
Fountain Made Of?
The chocolate fountain is manufactured from commercial grade
stainless steel. All components have
been rigorously tested to ensure years of trouble free operation. Most special event caterers and banquet
facilities using the chocolate fountain on a daily basis can expect to see an
average life span of approximately 10 years.
What Type Of
Chocolate Does The Fountain Use?
The Chocolate Fountains of Nigeria uses the finestBelgium chocolate. This is done for two reasons: First and foremost – Taste is of utmost
importance and Belgium chocolate is the best. Secondly, the
quality, consistency and flow of the chocolate is visually appealing to the
eye.
What Foods Can You
Dip In The Chocolate Fountain?
Most any food item that goes well with chocolate can be used
with the chocolate fountain. The most
popular items are pineapples, marshmallows, bananas, biscotti, graham crackers,
shortbread cookies etc. Just keep in
mind that any crumbly type food that may fall into the chocolate fountain may
cause the chocolate to get lumpy. Although
this will not harm the fountain, it does affect the appearance of the chocolate
as it is cascading over the tiers.
Can The Chocolate Fountain
Be Used Outdoors?
The Chocolate Fountains of Nigeria does not recommend the
fountain to be used outdoors. In certain
instances, the fountains will not function correctly outside. In order for the chocolate to flow smoothly
over the tiers, it must maintain a certain temperature. Another deterrent to the outside fountain use
may be the presence of insects- which dramatically decrease guest satisfaction.
How Many People Will
The Fountain Serve?
All three sizes of the fountain will serve the same number
of people and will serve an infinite amount of people if additional chocolate
is periodically added. As a guideline,
25 pounds of chocolate will server approximately 300 guests.
Do I Have To Hire
Someone To Set Up And Break Down?
No, all of our fountain rentals come with a professional
tuxedo chocolate butler who is fully insured.
We will set up 60 minutes before the event. The chocolate butler will remain throughout
the event and will break down the equipment afterwards.
Who Provides The Food
Items?
There are two reasons why we let you provide the dipping
items. First, if you provide them
yourself, they are extremely affordable for you to have available for your
guests. Our chocolate fountain representative
will arrange your edibles as long as they are arranged on the platters before
the event. With all Fountains bookings,
we send you a list of our top 20 items which include apples, brownies,
marshmallows, pineapple, pretzels and many more!
The second reason we rarely provide the items is due to the
policy from some of the facilities. They may not allow outside catering of food
services. Usually the chocolate fountain
is acceptable by itself, but not with the dipping items. Your caterers should be able to supply you
with an even greater selection of items that may include fresh cut fruits and
more seasonal items. Once again, we
provide you with a list of suggested dipping items to share with your caterer.
If not, you may purchase the dipping items from us for an
additional fee. Your event coordinator
for the fountains will help you decide what is best for you.
Do You Require
Reservations and A Deposit?
Yes, a reservation and signed contract is a MUST. A non refundable deposit of N10, 000.00 to hold your date is
required. Final payment is due 30 days
before the event. Payment plans are
optional.
What Are The Table
And Electrical Requirements For The Fountains?
Since the Chocolate fountains weight up to 100lbs when full,
a level, sturdy table is a must. If it
is not level, the chocolate will not flow evenly. A 5 foot round table works the best because
it allows more guests to use the fountain simultaneously. We will decorate the table and bring the
linens. We require a 220 volts
electrical outlet which must be close to the fountain table.
Can I Use The
Chocolate Fountain In Place Of The Wedding Cake?
Absolutely! Many of
our brides have chosen to have a chocolate fountain instead of the traditional
wedding cake. Our guests often dip a
piece of cake into the fountain for the ceremony as it provides them with a
much broader choice of desserts. Price
